Our Vision

To build the mind, character, and spirit of the student youth through voluntary community service, transforming them into socially responsible, empathetic, and progressive citizens who actively work toward the upliftment of society.

Our Mission

Driven by the timeless national motto, “NOT ME, BUT YOU,” the NSS department is committed to:

Fostering Selfless Service

Inspiring youth to place the welfare of the community before the self, promoting democratic values and social harmony.

Bridging Campus and Community

Creating meaningful linkages between knowledge and action by connecting the classroom environment to real-world grassroots realities

Community-Centric Education

Implementing the dual purpose of Education through Community Service and Community Service through Education to ensure holistic student development.

About the NSS Program

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at the Don Bosco Institute of Management Studies and Computer Applications (DBIMSCA) is a vibrant student-led platform dedicated to fostering community welfare and social responsibility. Driven by the core national motto, “Not Me, But You,” the department works to bridge the gap between classroom education and social reality. Through hands-on public service, the unit encourages students to understand the community they live in, identify its challenges, and actively contribute to practical, everyday solutions.

The department organizes a robust calendar of impact-driven social initiatives throughout the academic year. Volunteers regularly lead essential health and environmental campaigns, including voluntary blood donation drives, free medical screening camps, and local cleanliness initiatives aligned with national sanitation goals. Beyond these campus-focused efforts, the unit organizes public awareness rallies on critical contemporary issues such as road safety, substance abuse prevention, and environmental conservation, empowering students to act as progressive change agents.

Extension activities

Extension activities at Don Bosco Institute of Management Studies and Computer Applications (DBIMSCA) form the backbone of the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and holistic higher education. These outreach programs are designed to take student learning outside the classroom and direct it toward community development, civic awareness, and rural empowerment. By actively engaging with neighbouring communities, students translate corporate management and technology skills into meaningful social action.

Diverse Pillars of Social Outreach

The college drives its community-centric mission through several dedicated channels, including:

The NSS Unit:

Led by structured mentorship, the National Service Scheme runs continuous initiatives like health camps, blood donation drives, environmental sanitation campaigns, and annual village adoption programs.

Community Advocacy Programs:

Students routinely organize awareness rallies, street plays, and educational workshops focusing on critical issues like road safety, digital literacy, financial inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR):

DBIMSCA fosters partnerships with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government schools, and healthcare centres to support underprivileged sections of society through cloth donation drives, book banks, and mentorship camps.

Extra-curricular and Co-Curricular activities

At Don Bosco Institute of Management Studies and Computer Applications (DBIMSCA), learning extends far beyond the four walls of the classroom. The institution places immense value on holistic development, offering a vibrant ecosystem of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. These initiatives are strategically designed to discover talent, build corporate leadership skills, cultivate emotional intelligence, and ensure that every student graduates with a well-rounded personality ready to face global challenges.
